DESCRIPTION: Roughly two and a half inches long, coppery green in color with a pale blue tail tip. The thorax has one light line on either side, which becomes yellow in older males.

RANGE: Present in the mountains and Piedmont area up to the fall zone, absent in the coastal plain region

ABUNDANCE: Rare

SEASON: Early August to Late September in the Mountains, late June to late November in the Piedmont

COMMENTS: Largest damselfly native to North America!
