DESCRIPTION: Roughly two and a half inches long, coppery green in color with a pale blue tail tip. The thorax has one light line on either side, which becomes yellow in older males.

RANGE: Present though rare in the mountains and piedmont, absent in the coastal plain region

HABITAT: Slow-moving streams

SEASON: Early August to Late September in the mountains, late June to late November in the piedmont

COMMENTS: Largest damselfly native to North America!
